On November 29th, 2022 our grade 4 to 8 students hosted the first annual bake sale of the year. Bake sales are a creative way for students to feel part of the school community and also practice their financial literacy skills in real life. Check out pictures from our first event below:

This month our club theme for grades 4 to 8 was debates. In a world where communication skills are key, debating is a more formal way of communicating. It allows students to build confidence and self-esteem and develops critical thinking and reasoning skills. When students can speak publicly and convey their ideas and thoughts clearly, they possess a valuable tool that can aid them in their public, private and future lives. On Friday October 14th, 2022 Al Haadi School commemorated the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (p) and Imam Sadiq (a). The entire day different grades worked on various activities pertaining to the life of the Prophet (p) and Islamic Heritage month.

Al Haadi School organized its second Arabeen Walk event on Friday September 16th, 2022. Students from all grades participated during the event with a lot of passion and love for Imam al-Husayn (a).

Al Haadi School will be organizing an Open House – Meet the Teacher event on August 28th, 2022 between 5 PM to 7 PM.

With the grace of Allah (swt), Al Haadi School organized its first annual summer day camp. The overarching figure of this camp was Ibn Sina (d. 1037) a Muslim polymath and water was chosen as this year’s camp theme, a sacred gift of Allah to all living things.

On July 24th, Al Haadi School organized its graduation ceremony for Grade 8 and Senior Kindergarten Students.

Students were encouraged to dress in their ethnic clothes to remember their roots and tradition. Not only do these activities allow us to maintain our heritage, but also allows students to ponder on valuing, respecting and keeping them alive in their tiny hearts.

The last few weeks students had been trying out and training for various activities ranging from standing long jump, running long jump, sprinting, spoon race, sack race, three-legged race etc. in order to prepare for the Al Haadi School’s annual Track & Field Day on June 10th, 2022. Students from Kindergarten to grade 8 all participated in various competitive activities on a day jammed packed with activities and sports. The day ended with an awards ceremony, where participants were given a certificate of participation, and first, second and third place winners were given medals.

On May 31st, 2022, Al Haadi School invited Shaykh Mahdi Rastani to the school. Shaykh Mahdi is an instructor at the Mizan Institute (https://www.mizaninstitute.org/instructors), the Religious Director for Wisdom Academy (https://www.wisdomacademy.net/) and the Resident Aalim of City of Knowledge center in Dallas (https://cfkdfw.org/).
