Experiential learning and field trips form an essential part of Al Haadi School’s holistic learning philosophy. Our staff deeply believes that experiential learning is not merely an enhancement, but an inherent part of Islamic pedagogy and a way of connecting knowledge to lived experience. This conviction inspires our teachers to continually extend learning beyond the classroom walls and into the wider world.
Each field trip is thoughtfully planned in alignment with a topic, theme, or concept currently being studied in class. These experiences often integrate multiple subjects through cross-curricular and transdisciplinary approaches, allowing students to see how knowledge interconnects across different domains.
It only takes a moment of reflection to realize how abundant learning opportunities are within our surroundings, whether in the heart of the city, along its outskirts, near industrial hubs, or amid the natural beauty of a national park. With a bit of intentionality, every environment can become a classroom.
After several years, we are excited to share a compiled list of all the places within the GTA that our students have visited across various grades and subjects. The list includes the name of each site, the grade level that attended, and the academic focus of the trip. While certain trips were designed for specific grades, we encourage staff to adapt and explore these destinations based on their own class needs and objectives.
