Grade 4 students had the enriching opportunity to explore Baba Jeweller, a family-owned jewelry store, where they saw precious stones, diamonds, and gold. Throughout the visit, students actively observed the intricate manufacturing process of these stones, gaining hands-on experience in the craftsmanship of jewelry. Witnessing the captivating transformation of gold, from its molten state to being meticulously shaped into a ring and brushed to attain the desired color, left a lasting impression. The students also developed an understanding of the worth of gold and various stones as they observed the weighing process and learned about associated costs.
This visit to the jewelry store established a meaningful connection to our classroom lessons, providing valuable insights into both the geological and cultural aspects we’ve been exploring.
