We are excited to announce the launch of our new logo as part of the ongoing improvements to our school. Our 2021 – 2022 academic year has been a great stride towards our new school vision and we have altered our logo to reflect who we are today and to symbolize where we wish to head in the future.

We wanted to distance ourselves away from the traditional shield (an escutcheon) which is often used by schools, universities and other educational institutes for their logo design. The shield is part of a 1000-year old European tradition of heraldry, in which it was seen as the main component of the larger coat of arms, primarily used to identify military units and knights.

With our new logo, we have retained the core elements of our previous logo, which consists of pages of a book symbolizing the wings of a bird in flight, coupled with five yellow stars signifying the Ahl al-Kisa (a). The pages / wings are more spread out than they were in the older logo, signifying greater efficiency and strength to overcome challenges as we move forward with the implementation of our new school vision and direction. The logo is also no longer constricted within a shield, signifying the school’s intentions to be innovative, creative and to become an accessible educational institute for the Muslim community in Toronto.

In the upcoming months, we will update all our marketing literature and online presence etc. with the new logo.
