Course Fees: These sessions are free to join for Muslim educators, parents and youth, however participants are expected to have done their weekly readings and contribute to the discussions.

Our PBC (Professional Book Club) modules are part of our teacher training modules, along with our ITE (Islamic Theology for Educator) and LAW (Islamic Jurisprudence) modules. These modules are geared towards professional development of Muslim educators, but are generally open to parents, and individuals who want to develop a deeper understanding of living as a Muslim in the modern world. The book we have chosen for our first module is A Young Muslim’s Guide to the Modern World, by Seyyed Hossein Nasr.
The book has 3 sections with a total of 15 chapters:
Section 1: Message of Islam
Section 2: Nature of the Modern World
Section 3: Responding to Modern Challenges
We will break up our readings into the following chapters; and will have a total of 4 meetings for this specific book:

Pre-Requisites
18+ and ideally working towards a bachelor’s degree or a college certificate in a relevant field and/or be working as an educator or working towards becoming an educator.
