Our grade 4 class visited Little Canada on Wednesday March 8th! During this trip, students saw how science, technology, engineering and art were used to build a miniature of Toronto, Ottawa, Golden Horseshoe, Niagara and Quebec. Students also interacted with the artists, engineers, and destination experts during their visit. At this field trip students looked at different mechanisms like pulleys and gears and learned how different uses of matter-energy like light and sound improved lives. The students were taught how the Canadian environment, human activities, and resources affect habitats and communities. Students also got an opportunity to see visual arts, with an emphasis on proportions and design about different elements like texture, color, shape and design.

This field trip helped the student to visualize and enhance their understanding of all the following units that we have covered in Science (Habitat, Pulleys and Gears and Sound and Light).
